Counseling For Highly Sensitive Adults In Idaho

For deep feelers, empaths, and high achievers who seem calm on the outside — but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or off balance inside

Reconnect with your needs, your body, and your self — gently, and at your pace

Is This You?

You’re the one people count on. Capable. Caring. Thoughtful.

And still, something inside you feels off.

Maybe you’ve tried counseling before, but it didn’t quite click.

You’re wondering if anyone truly sees how much you carry beneath the surface.

You feel things deeply, even if you don’t always show it.

You might talk a lot, then apologize for it.

Or catch yourself trying to be a “good counseling client,” even in your pain.

You’re not broken.

You’re not alone.

In this space, we slow things down.

We listen to your nervous system.

We begin to soften the belief that love has to be earned by hiding parts of who you are.

You Feel Everything Deeply

Maybe you’ve always felt just a little out of place.

You notice the shift in someone’s tone or details that others miss.

Feel worn down by loud rooms and unspoken tension.

Even when you seem “fine” to others, something inside feels like too much.

You’ve learned to stay calm on the outside, while your inner world runs full, fast, and loud.

You may have heard the phrase “highly sensitive person.” Maybe it fits. Maybe it doesn’t quite capture your experience.

You don’t need a label.

However, you do deserve support that honors the depth of your feelings.

What Counseling Can Look Like

  • Together, we’ll slow things down.

  • We’ll listen to what your nervous system is trying to say.

  • We’ll explore how your sensitivity has been misunderstood — or turned against you.

  • And we’ll increase your capacity to feel grounded, clear, and connected.

Your sensitivity isn’t the problem. It’s your body’s wisdom in a world that often asks too much. Let’s learn how to follow it, not fear it.

You’re the One People Count On

You’re thoughtful. Responsible. High-achieving.

A natural leader who always shows up for others.

But lately, it’s harder to keep holding it all together.

You’ve reflected, pushed through, tried to fix it.

And still… something feels off.

You’re not broken. You’re just tired of performing strength.

And beneath the polished exterior? There’s often a relentless inner critic.

A push to be perfect. A fear of letting anyone down.

In counseling, you don’t have to be impressive.

You get to be real and deeply seen.

Together, we’ll explore the pressure you hold and what it might mean to let some of it go.

Depression & Anxiety

Your life looks full from the outside. But inside it feels like something is missing. Maybe you’re going through the motions. Getting things done. But, struggling to feel connected to joy or purpose. You’ve learned how to keep up with it all, until the quiet moments. That’s when a heaviness can settle in, or tears break through without warning.

What Counseling Can Look Like Here

  • We create a space for you to hold the feeling you’ve been carrying.

  • We explore the inner numbness, overwhelm, anger, or sadness without rushing to fix it.

  • And, we work to reconnect you to your own inner resources: your inner wisdom and compassion that’s been there all along.

Overwhelming Memories

You might not call it trauma.

But certain memories still live in your body. In the tension in your shoulders, knots in your stomach, the unease before sleep, the moments when your reaction surprises even you.

You’ve learned to discuss difficult topics with calm detachment.

You’ve kept painful experiences at a distance by analyzing, explaining, minimizing.

And yet... part of you wonders why certain patterns keep showing up. Why it’s so hard to let go. Why you still feel so far from yourself.

This is the imprint of overwhelming memories. Even the ones you can’t quite name.

What Counseling Can Look Like Here

  • In our work, we’ll gently trace how present-day challenges might echo past wounds.

  • We’ll slow down the overthinking and listen to your body, where much of the story still lives.

  • You’ll have a space to feel, process, and grieve what was never fully held.

  • Together, we’ll help you build trust in your inner world, so your past doesn’t have to write your present.

If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill to help with reimbursement. Many clients also use Mentaya, a simple tool to check your coverage and submit claims with ease.

I offer a limited number of spots on a sliding scale. Feel free to reach out to ask about current availability.

Good Faith Estimate & No Surprises Act

If you’re not using insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate that outlines the expected cost of your therapy services. You’ll receive this estimate before our first session. To learn more about your rights under the No Surprises Act, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • All sessions are held online using a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform called TherapyNotes. You’ll receive a private link to join each session from the comfort of your own space.

  • Yes. Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many mental health concerns, especially when there’s a strong therapeutic relationship. In fact, a 2022 meta-analysis found no significant difference in outcomes between telehealth and in-person care for issues like anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms. What matters most is the connection between us, and that can absolutely be built through a screen.

  • Our first session is a starting point. I’ll ask about what’s bringing you to counseling and what you’re hoping for. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what feels hard. And what might be possible if that went away.

I’ll listen for patterns with curiosity and empathy, and we’ll start noticing how your past and present experiences might be connected. I’ll also ask how you see my role in your healing process, and how you see your own. By the end of the session, we’ll have enough information to begin shaping some overall goals for our work together in session two.

  • There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients come for a few months, others longer. We’ll check in regularly and adjust based on your needs and goals. And when you feel ready to conclude, that’s something we’ll honor and celebrate. You never have to be afraid to say, “I think I’m ready.”

  • My standard session fee is $185 for a 55-minute session. This applies to clients paying privately or using out-of-network benefits. If you’re using out-of-network coverage, I can provide a monthly superbill for you to submit to your insurance. Many clients find Mentaya helpful in checking their benefits and submitting claims.
