Getting Started

Therapy doesn’t have to feel complicated.

Here’s what the process looks like.

What to Expect

We begin with a brief consultation call to see if we’re a good fit. It’s a chance to ask questions and get a feel for working together — with no pressure to decide on the spot.

If we move forward, sessions are 55 minutes and held online through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.

Our first full session is a time to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’ve already tried, and what you hope might feel different.

There’s no need to have the “right” words.

From there, we move at a pace that fits you. We’ll gently get curious about the patterns, beliefs, and protective strategies that have shaped how you relate — to yourself and to others. We’ll pay attention to what feels most supportive in the moment.

Therapy is collaborative. You don’t have to perform here.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • It’s normal to feel unsure at first. In our early sessions, we’ll talk about what’s bringing you in and what you’re hoping might feel different. There’s no need to have the right words or a clear plan — we’ll figure that out together.

  • Yes. Research shows that telehealth therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for many concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma-related issues.

Many clients find that being in their own space actually helps them feel more at ease. As long as you have privacy and a stable internet connection, meaningful work can happen online.

  • That depends on your goals and what you’re working through. Some clients come for a focused season of support, while others choose longer-term work. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy continues to feel helpful and aligned with your needs.

  • Fit matters. If at any point it doesn’t feel like the right match, we can talk about it openly. I’m always willing to help you find a referral that better supports you.

  • Clients often describe me as calm, grounded, and direct in a thoughtful way. I bring warmth and curiosity, and I won’t rush you. We’ll explore patterns, emotions, and beliefs at a pace that feels steady — without pressure to perform or push past yourself.
